*UPDATE*
I received my doppler yesterday and had no luck with it. I tried again this morning with a very full bladder and found it! Baby was between 135-145 and moving like crazy, no wonder he had trouble finding it.

I had my appointment yesterday! I have only gained 3lbs so far. My blood pressure was low but its always low. The growth of my uterus was right on track. He wasn't able to find the heartbeat though He tried for a good 10 minutes. He said it is about 50/50 hearing it this early, but I am still a little concerned because I have heard it this early with my other 3. I told him I was concerned and he said I could come back in in 2wks and have him check again. He said if he was the least bit concerned about it he would send me to a ultrasound. I haven't had any spotting besides after DTD, which is normal. No intense cramping at all. I went ahead and ordered a fetal doppler so I should get it next week. If I can't find it I will go back to my doc on July 20th to have him check. I am not too too worried. I trust him, even my mom, who has been going to him for the past 15yrs, said if it was any other doc she would want me to get a ultrasound ASAP, but since its him she trusts him that everything is ok. Still makes me nervous though!

HUGS! How tough to have to wait, especially when you have heard a heart beat with your other 3 around the same time. I have no real good advice as I have never been through what you are going through. I hope everything works out okay. You do have my hugs and support though!

Best Wishes,

Rosie

That is what my doc said. He said even if I am off by as little as a few days there is less chance of hearing it. I should get my doppler this week! I am not too concerned really just more nervous I guess.

With my last 3 babies my midwife had a really tough time finding the heartbeat for the first two appt.s I think the baby just has more room to move in there.

Hugs...if you think it will stress you out to wait the 2 weeks, can you request an u/s?

Im sorry mama ... So frustrating. There are so many factors that. Could play into it. I hope your doppler gives you peace of mind! I have a 3.0 MHz and works great! Which did you order?

(HUGS), im sorry they make you wait like this...i hate the unknown...but i still think you should trust your body....no cramping is a very goood sign....i have had 2 m m/c and both times i was so confused thinking that what went wrong...but now that i am pregnant again, i see its totally different....i dont cramp as much....with the m/c my back just killed me and i had very sharp pains in my uterus the same time.....of course it was just me.....but i think you should think positively...your body would give you at least some clue something is wrong....i would hang on to that....i bet everything is okay.... i should be worrying out my pants too then, because i read around that at 6w5d lots of ladies could hear their babies hb at scan....i just saw a hb but they couldnt hear it yet. They said it depends on the technology.

I'm sorry you weren't able to hear the heartbeat yet. I hope you are able to find it right away when you get your doppler

I would but he really doesn't like doing ultrasounds unless they are really needed because of my insurance. He doesn't seem worried at all, he said if he did he would give me ultrasound asap. I trust him but I am still a little nervous. Hopefully I will be able to pick it up when my doppler comes in next week.

I'm sorry the visit did not go as you'd liked. It is nice that you have a doctor you can trust like that though, that has to provide some relief. I'm about as far along as you are, and have an appointment on Wednesday when I was hoping to hear a heartbeat, but after reading about your experience (and reading elsewhere that even at 10-12 weeks hearing it with a doppler can be iffy) I'm trying to downshift my expectations.

Hope that your own private doppler arrives early and provides the sound of relief!

I'm surprised they used a doppler this early. My hospital hasn't even tried yet, due to it being too early and they said that the frequencies used in the doppler are too high for baby yet (I'm 9 weeks, they usually do it at 12 weeks). They were able to check the heartbeat using a vaginal ultrasound though and it was beating strong at 175.
