I'm Rebecca, my husband is Peter, and we are both 34.

He desperately wants a boy, and I'm torn between wanting a boy to make him happy, and wanting a girl myself.

I feel like I crave everything, lol. It's mostly carbs though, and usually sweets. Brownies, cake, cookies, yum.

This will be our first child.

I feel pretty great. I've been lucky to have no m/s and only a touch of nausea, and other than that I'm just still a bit tired. Now that the SCH is resolving, I'm less anxious every week.

I do forensic genetics research. I've worked with the same organization for 10.5 years, and my work was on-site until my lab moved about 4 months ago. Now I do at least 50% of my work remotely; when I'm not at home I work out of a small local office, and at least once every two weeks I go to the new lab (2 hours away) for the day or overnight.

I have a terrible time choosing a favorite anything! And especially food lately - EVERYTHING sounds good, lol. But let's see, some top choices... I love really great pizza. Just cheese, New York or New Haven style. I love almost any kind of seafood (except fried), and often choose it when I go out to eat. Lamb is a favorite meat. I love all kinds of ethnic foods, and one of the things I love where I live now is the abundance of ethnic restaurants.

I have two cats, one male and one female. They're getting old!

I don't really have a favorite color. Blue, maybe?

Probably pants. I like casual best. I'm at the small office near my home today, and I'm in jeans and flip flops.

Almost anything chocolate raspberry! Growing up my mom always got a chocolate cake with raspberry filling for my birthday, and that's still my favorite kind of cake. There used to be a coffee shop in my hometown that made the most unbelievable chocolate raspberry cheesecake - so, so good.

Kitchen. We're planning to remodel it before the baby arrives (I meet with a designer this Saturday!), but it will definitely be scaled back from my ideal kitchen. We are going to make a minor structural change to take out a pantry (so we can take the cabinets around the corner of the L), but I'd REALLY love two ovens - and that kind of higher-end remodel just isn't in the budget (and doesn't make sense for a future buyer of our townhouse).

I had my dream job until about 4 months ago. I truly love the work I do, and I loved the environment I was doing it in. I love my boss, and many of my colleagues. I would have happily stayed in that job forever. The lab moving changed things though, and doing my job (or what my job has become) remotely has been really tough. I don't have the same feeling about my job anymore, even though I love the work itself; it's just not the same. The next year or so will determine whether I will try to continue to make it work or not.

Favorite beach vacation was definitely Hawaii. It was not at the top of my list of potential vacation places before I went, but it was absolutely amazing. Favorite non-beach vacation was definitely Italy. Rome is an incredible city. I've been some other places for work that I'd really love to go back to on vacation.

I think I'd go to Woods Hole, on Cape Cod. I spent 3 weeks there a few summers back for a training course and fell in love with it, but that course was so tightly scheduled that I had very little time to explore. I want to go back and just enjoy it there.

I love to travel, and will do it anytime I'm given the opportunity. I'll go anywhere I can get work to send me, or any place I can talk my husband into.

For fun closer to home... I don't know, I'm kind of a homebody most of the time, actually. I read a lot, I enjoy baking, and I like to exercise. I got really into running in the 6 months before I became pregnant, and had run a few races. I was still pretty slow, but I loved seeing the improvements over time. I'm not a competitive person, but I love setting goals for myself and working to achieve them, and running was great for that. After so many years of being morbidly obese, it was amazing to see all the things my body was capable of when I was fit and healthy. I had decided with my last embryo transfer that if it didn't work, I was going to train to run a half marathon in September. I hope that I'll be able to get back into running after the pregnancy (I'm not allowed even light exercise right now), and do more races someday.

I mostly grew up in a suburb of Rochester, NY. We moved around a bit for my dad's job when I was young, so I also spent a couple years each living in San Jose, CA and Charlotte, NC.

Yes, one younger sister (she's 32).

I'm going home to visit my family at the end of August, and I can't wait to see them.
