Anyone else have this or had earlier in the pregnancy? I think I am a little behind most of you guys as I am due almost in March.. What the heck! It is my only symptom I have had (other than being dead tired a few weeks and always hungry!) it drives me nuts to the point I am so short of breath I cant even hold my end of the conversation sometimes (and this is not good for me at work)..Did it go away or has is subsided at all? Tums help a little, almost like its indigestion and letting out a burp helps me be able to breath again but I don't want to over do it with them..Any suggestions? Aghh..

Ha, i just saw that, guess were on the same wavelength! If i knew how to delete this i would just write on yours..it is insane! Its like i can hardly walk up stairs without being winded! Which is just awful because I walk all day at work.. i have the same thing where i feel like i will pass out..I sure do hope it goes away..I don't get why this happens especially because I exercise regularly, I bike 5 miles a day and now modified weight training ..I see you are not so far ahead of me, so heres to hoping for us!

Every time I walk on stairs I can't talk to anyone for a couple minutes. I've been getting winded and that was not the norm for me. I'm with you, I'm 16 weeks and it hasn't gotten better for me yet.

Ugh. I wonder what causes it. It has to be something with hormones and the excess progesterone..that stinkin progesterone causes everything!

Well in the meantime good luck to you guys and lets try to take it a little slower and take time to catch our breath!

I believe the baby growing pushes all you organs upward which leaves less room for the lungs to expand. If I recall correctly it only get worse the bigger baby gets.

I get this all the time and pregnancy exacerbates it.

If it feels like burping helps, try Gas-X - it's basically inert so really safe to take.

For the poster who feels worse after a meal, that could be due to low blood pressure if you're prone to that; digestion diverts blood flow temporarily, and blood pressure tends to drop a bit in pregnancy due to the extra blood volume.

HAHAHA! So true! After about 30 weeks or so, my lungs and ribs would hurt so bad after eating from being squished. I swear he was living behind my ribs, he grew up more than out.
