So today I found out I have strep throat bad. I cannot talk or swallow anything. So I am on 400ml amoxicillin 3 times a day for the next 10 days. But I am having my son on the 13th. So does that mean that I need to bring my medicine or will they give it to me while I am there?

Some hospitals do not allow outside meds but hey wont confiscate them or anything. I would take them with you just in case they are okay with you taking your own.

I just worry about the fact that the meds need to be in the fridge and as far as I know they do not have a fridge in the room.

If it were just pills then I would take it with me. I'm on medications that I was told to take with me to the hospital and take them at my usual times. Since it's something that has to be refrigerated, though, you should definitely bring it up to your OB and see what they say or call L&D and ask them what they want you to do.

They have refrigerators for meds that need it. If you bring it with you, what will most likely happen is, they will keep it in their med refrigerator and give it to you at the times that it needs to be given and then send it home with you when you leave. OR, they'll just provide it themselves.

Just bring your script and (pills if you want.) The hospital will issue their own meds to you. Will you be having another appoinment with OB before due date?

Mine has a fridge for that purpose so it wouldn't hurt to bring it. If you don't have a fridge, you could always bring a tiny cooler with ice packs.

I have blood work to be done on the 12th and then go in for my c-section on the 13th. I will get to be off the meds on the 16th which is the day I should be able to go home too. But I will bring it up with my doctor. I cannot call anyone right now because it is bad enough I cannot talk and my throat is bleeding.

Oh I am so sorry you have strep throat. :-( I would bring the medicine just in case. I've always been asked to bring in any prescriptions in that I was on at the time. That was in Florida now that I'm in Tennessee I'm not sure. I'm going to bring mine just in case because I've had severe acid reflux. Hope you get better real soon!

Right now I am more worried about the baby. He has not moved at all today.

Have you tried drinking some juice or ice water? Sometimes a shot of juice will wake them up. If you've done that and still didn't feel any movement then you need to get to L&D and get checked out.

Sounds horrible. I really hope the baby has started moving again, if not I would get checked out asap just because you're so sick and on meds.
When I went for my c section with dd1 I took my own meds but the hospital actually gave me their own meds. I do remember there was a medicine fridge though.

I am just starting to be able to swallow liquids. I know I am very dehydrated though. As soon as I can I am going to drink some juice but right now I am trying to drink water.

Considering you haven't been able to drink and you know you're really dehydrated, I would just skip drinking juice and just head in to get checked. They can hook you up to some fluids, too, and get you hydrated again. Dehydration is SOOO bad for pregnancy.

I called the doctor last night and they said just to force fluids and the baby would be fine.
