For the ladies who have given birth: Did your birth go as you planned? Did you have a birth plan or did you just go with the flow

I had a birth plan but it didnt go exactly as planned. My bp was crazy so I couldnt get up and walk or shower, or even sit in the chair. I was induced too which wasnt in the plans.

Everything went how I had envisioned it. Except having to get the first epidural pulled and redone. Other than that, it was perfect.

Besides how unbelievably fast it went and not getting an epidural, it was perfect! I actually don't even really mind the all natural part. Having her placed on me right after she was born was amazing!!

Like Nyzira, my only firm plan was to have a healthy baby! That being said I did want to have an unmediated birth and that did not happen but I held out until it was the epi or mag. I choose the lesser of two evils , but am happy with the way the whole thing went at the end

I didn't really have a plan except that I wanted to go naturally. My BP got up and they induced. Other than that ad a few complications I am happy. DH was able to cut the cord (he couldn't with our first) and I was able to have her immediately and start BF and do skin to skin (wasn't able to hold my first for 4 hours after birth due to breathing issues).

no "plan" per say other than to go with the flow and get pain meds if we crossed that bridge. The only unexpected part was going from contractions every 15-20 minutes to my water breaking and instant back to back contractions. Then the plan was to get to the hospital, not have a baby in the car, and have her be healthy. No time for pain meds as I was complete walking in the door and we waited 15 minutes for my OB to get there.

Overall it was a great experience, both of us are happy and healthy though I feel like because i had her within 24 minutes of getting to the hospital that i missed out on delivery. I feel like I was pregnant and now I just have a baby LOL! it took me a good 4 days after she was here to stop trying to feel for her butt/thigh under my ribcage when i'd go to the bathroom or stand up even though she could be right in front of me!

I didn't really have a plan other than to have a healthy baby and to get the epidural in time. I did hope to go on my own though and had to have help getting labor started. Other than that though everything went perfectly.

I didn't have a birth plan other than to not 'be pestered' . I knew (and hoped) we were headed for another crazy fast labor and that's just what happened with an hour and fifteen minutes total.

The only surprises were that I didn't tear, which is a first for me and that when my water broke just as I was beginning to push he'd passed meconium and so they called the respiratory specialist. Fortunately he hadn't aspirated or anything so he wasn't needed after all, but that was a new experience too.

I had to have a shot of pitocin and then later a shot of methergen since I was bleeding pretty heavily, but the second shot got it under control.

I had a fabulous labor nurse and though the whole experience was, of course, very painful, overall it went great and I couldn't have asked for better!

I didn't necessarily have a birth plan but I linda knew what to expect since I'd been through it before. I wasn't expect it to go quite as fast as it did. I was complete with water broken less than 2 hours after getting to the hospital. He happened to have a 2nd bag of waters around him that helped me hold him in long enough for him to get some antibiotics since I was GBS+. He was born less than 20 min after they broke my water that time.

I planned to go with the flow and well thankfully I was flexible because I ended up having an emergency c-section under general anesthesia

When I got to my labor room, the nurse asked me for three goals and the most important goal was to have a healthy baby. So regardless of how she got here, I achieved my goal of having a healthy baby so mission accomplished!

I hoped for a natural waterbirth, i just was hoping labour was longer then the 1.5hr with lucas as the pain with him was soo bad, but it was 1hr 10min, although now its over the pain with connor wasnt as bad as pain with lucas, perhaps because i was in the water and not confined to a bed.

Having stitches wasnt in the plan, my last two kids were natural, unmedicated births also and i didnt tear so i was hoping it would be the same this time, stitches didnt cross my mind!! But he was much bigger then i imagined at 9lbs 1oz.

Them two things are only little though, id say i had a perfect labour and birth :-)
