Okay, I have been doing googling on a high cervix at 40 weeks, and it is not making me feel good! A lot of sites are saying things that I may need a c-section because of a high cervix? Is my cervix suppose to descend down? I thought labor was when the cervix shortens and dilates. So does it need to descend too? I guess I am confused. And now I am curious when my doctor said posterior, if she meant my baby is, or my cervix is (Or both?!). My appointment is on Monday, so I will able to clarify all this then, but I was curious if anyone had any knowledge about what a high-cervix really means, or maybe I should just stay away from google!
Don't let google scare you! I have a VERY posterior cervix and my doctor usually has to reach up and behind baby's head to even check me. With at least one of my labors the nurses thought I was going to take hours and hours because my cervix was still so far back -- he was born within the hour. For me all it's meant is thwt when my cervix gets in the right spot I usually dilate very quickly, so it's actually been a bonus for me! So don't stress, I'm sure yours will get where it belongs before much longer and you'll be holding your princess!
