I gave birth 6 days ago and this was my first vaginal delivery and after like 3 days I noticed this pressure and pain in my clitoris , it hurts to touch and when walking and sometimes sitting it feels like a bad bruise , is this normal or should I contact my midwife? I did have a epi so I had a catheter . Any advice is appreciated
mom to an amazing boy and girl! love them so much!!
Sounds like bruising to me, i had the same feelings with all my children and it will probably feel a bit worse for you as you had a catheter to, just think you had to give birth to a big round head which pushed up against all your bits, it will feel sore for a bit but should get better soon
i'm gonna say a little of both bruising and swelling due to a baby passing through there I noticed my swelling was completely different down there this time compared to Riley. I had stitches in 2 different places with Riley, one due to the episiotomy and the other an internal laceration from him coming through, but i don't remember swelling down there, just the bruised feeling from stitches. After Emalie i noticed about 3-4 days PP that it felt like my undies were rolled up and almost like a wedgie between my labia back by my perineum. I felt in the shower and noticed the back half of them was swollen. It wasn't painful but highly uncomfortable. I was on the verge of calling my OB because it showed up like 3 days after having her! If it had been there from the start I wouldn't have though twice about it. I just went through my infection checklist in my head: i didn't have a fever, it didn't smell funky, there wasn't any drainage other than the lochia, it wasn't hot to the touch and it wasn't painful to the touch so i just kind of "monitored" it by how uncomfortable I was down there and by the end of the week it was pretty much gone.
