Baby girl is a little over 6 weeks old and up to this point I have been the only one waking up every hour of the night with her. I have been so tired that I finally started getting depressed. So this weekend DH decided to wake up with her and let my sleep. I have been pumping milk, but also having to use formula every now and then.. But because of that he was able to help me this weekend and I SLEPT! It was awesome. I felt so much better after that. Then we went to the store and he let me pick out a bunch of new books for her which I really wanted to do. So just wanted to update everyone on my great weekend I plan on letting him help me more often at night.
So glad to hear it! I'm glad your DH is able to take some of the burden off of you so that you can get some sleep and feel better. MY DH is getting better anticipating where he can help, like this morning when I just really did not want to drag my butt out of bed again. He got up, got the pumped milk out of the fridge, heated it and they had a nice little snack together. I woke up to him singing to her. (I feel sorry for this kid who seems to love us singing, since we're both just terrible at it; in fact I don't even enjoy singing.)
Hope that just a little help here and there helps you get your sanity back like it has for me. (Now I have just enough energy to start paying attention to my own recovery, which is not going quite flawlessly.)
