Every baby I know seems to be eating something different.
I know a 8 month old baby who gets to eat small pieces of grilled cheese sandwiches..
A 9 month old baby eating grape halves and snack puffs...
A 7 month old baby eating Cheerios and humming on apple slices..
All I give my almost 7 month old (besides a bottle) is puréed foods. She gets puréed fruits, veggies that I blend for her at home. She doesn't have any teeth yet.. Surprisingly. And she has stopped showing an I terest in the foods I make for her. She willingly takes 2 bites and then she's done.
Other babies I know that are 7 months are eating whole jars of food. That seems like a lot to me because I make a small 2oz thing if food and all but two spoonfuls goes in the trash. Every time. Is my baby not ready for foods? Is she bored? Should I give her snack puffs to try? She is 95th percentile for weight, she is growing healthy and just fine. I'm just wondering what I should be feeding her and why she doesn't seem to want any table foods anymore.
My baby is prolly 20 pounds and 7.5 months and is only getting breastmilk. We tried a little food at six months and it wasn't worth it too me. I will prolly EBF for a year. When I worked at WIC we always just considered food entertainment the first year anyway. Some peds recommend BFing a whole year especially if there are risks for food allergies. Like you said, everyone is different. I am not worried. The only thing that stinks is I am still up every 2 hours at night but I am used to it.
I am in the April PR but my baby was born March 4th. She is 6.5 months and is eating purees. She eats 2 ounces twice a day and in a few weeks we will increase that to 3 times a day. She has loved everything we have given her so far (except one vegetable mix). I think it all depends on the baby. I talked to the mother of a really large baby and she said her baby was eating (4) 16 ounce bottles of formula per day and 3-4 four ounce jars of food.
