BTDT mommies how big were you're babies? First time mommies do they run big or small in your family?

DH's family has large babies and my family had small ones so I was wondering where we would end up. Tegan was 6lbs 12oz when she was born and dipped just below 6lbs before we left the hospital as my milk took a long time to come in.

I love the picture!
Babies run big on my husbands size, and small on mine. Our son was born at a nice size of 7lb 9oz though. He dropped down to 7lbs before we left the hospital, but he started gaining again once we brought him home. I'm hoping for another average sized baby- not like my husband who was born a 10+ pounder

From what my OB told me, baby size depends completely on the mother's genes. My brothers and I were all 10+ lb babies, so I was really worried. DD was born 3 weeks early and was 7lb 11oz- pretty big for being so early. she was also really long-- 22inches.

My partner carried our first, and she was 6lbs 2oz, born at 36 weeks.

As far as I know babies have been fairly average in my family 7 - 8 pounds.

I was just over 8 lbs. And my hubby, well, I'm not sure. I plan on asking his parents if I can look through his adoption papers to see what the agency sent through regarding his birth and condition at birth. I know his APGAR was a whopping 5 at birth. He had no respirations and had to be resuscitated. He also had a small fracture in his shoulder. But his birth mom was young, drank and smoked through the whole pregnancy, and didn't seek any prenatal care. I'm just so glad she gave him up.. his family is wonderful.

We're petite people in my family so we tend to make petite babies, DH's family is the complete opposit. I was 7 pounds, DH was I think 10, and my son was 6 lbs 13 oz and a tiny 18 inches. My sister's kids were both 6.6 lbs and 17.5 inches

In my family we were all pretty small, but we were all also premature. I'm hoping I don't follow that trend. I was only 5 lb 6 oz. and my brother was much smaller than me. FX'd I don't take after my mom on this one.

My first was born at 39w5d and was my biggest at 7 lbs 4 oz.
My second was born at 38w5d (I think) and was 6 lbs 13 oz.
My third was born at 38w and was 6 lbs 7 oz.

I guess they are kind of small.

My daughter was born 2 weeks early and was 8 lbs, 12 and 1/2 oz, 21 and 1/2 inches long. She was so long that she didn't fit into newborn outfits. She's now very tall for her age (at 3 yrs old, and skinny too). I'm 5 ft 5 and was born at 8 lbs some-odd oz.

I weighed 7lb2oz, and DH was 7lb9oz. Maddie weighed 7lb7oz and was 21 inches. U/S tech swore at 40 weeks she was over 9lbs, swore her measurements were incredibly accurate..dr pushed for a c-section b/c she was so big and insisted u/s was accurate, then after she was born, the dr commented that those u/s are always off plus she was born 8 days after the u/s. I'd think this baby will be in the 7lb range, but my mom had 3 babies in the 7's, one in the 8s and an almost 10 lb baby...so anything could happen!
