Let me start off saying, I have been having horrible nightmares about my first appointment. I am not sure why, but I kept thinking the worse of everything. Well I had my first appointment today at 10:15 this morning. I went in & we did some paperwork, the nurse asked normal questions, she checked my blood pressure, weight (lost 15 pounds so far this pregnancy, since I have been so ill), and then she got out the baby doppler. I was so scared of this part, thinking the worse.
She tried for 20 minutes to find a heartbeat and couldn't, so she brought in two of her nurses she works aside and they couldn't find it either. I started to panic. So she ordered a sonogram and had me go downstairs in the hospital to have it done.
GOOD NEWS. Sonogram was perfect, they found the heartbeat (he/she was moving quite a bit and being very active so that's why they couldn't find it before). But the heartbeat was 169 and everything looks perfect.
She measured the baby and I am exact on my thought of a due date - March 1st. So I will be 11 weeks tomorrow (Thursday).
I will see my doctor every 2 weeks instead of once a month for most of my pregnancy due to my PIH last pregnancy, so they want to keep an eye out in case I develop it again. But I am really excited. I had to have a copy of the sonogram so I could share with all you ladies!

11 weeks soon, woo hoo! I was due March 1st with my first child, it's so fun being pregnant at the beginning of the month.
