I bought some OTC prenatals...just regular, no DHA. Well, the NP yesterday wrote me a prescription for prenatals + DHA. Usually my co-pay for meds is $10, so I assumed that's what it would be. Nope...$30?!? I was floored! It was only for a 30 day supply too. I looked online to see how much non-prescription ones would cost and found some for much cheaper. Why are the script ones sooo expensive, even after insurance?!? I'll be going the OTC route from now on.

It's amazing how expensive the script ones are! I learned that early on during my first pregnancy. I stuck to the OTC ones after that and will with this pregnancy too.

Ugh! Same here, I'm used to my meds being $5-$10 or free... For my prenatal its $16 a month! Not too much more, but when you're on a budget, it feels like alot!

Try Wal-Mart's pharmacy. I got 90 prescription prenatals for $6. The brand was Pre-Natal Plus I think.

I can't bring myself to swallow pills right now. My doctor said it's fine to take the Flintstone with Iron vitamins for now. Much cheaper and tolerable for me at this stage!

Yikes! I just do the OTC cheapies from walmart. $4 a bottle... and usually need 2 bottles for the whole pregnancy, so $8 for 9 months. LOL
