Oh ladies.... my aching back! I don't know what happened. Around 1 am, I woke up to this horrible pain in my lower back. It shortly went away, but comes and goes. This morning sitting here at work, it has happened about 6 times. It is my lower back, near my kidneys I guess, maybe a bit lower, and feels like horrible cramps but sometimes just achy. Anyone else having back pain like this? I am about to find a heating pad or something around here.

I get horrible lower back pain off and on. I just assume it's from the additional weight in the front

Is your stomach tightening when this happens! I have back pain with my contractions and it is horrible, even with the braxton hicks. You may need to monitor it a little closer.

The weight in the front definitely makes sense. Ugh it is awful. I haven't noticed if my stomach is tightening as well, I will pay attention next time. I hope this goes away soon. It is not fun!

Both of my previous labors it was all back pain and it was exactly as you are describing. Pay more attention to it and see if you can't download an app for your phone if you have a smart phone. A free one I got I think is called contraction timer. it's so simple you press start when a contraction starts and then stop when it ends. it will then tell you the duration of the contraction, the frequency, avg duration of contractions in last hour etc. it's a very handy tool.

so yeah monitor a little closer momma.

I'd keep an eye on that. My last two babies were total back labor and it was horrible! With my first, I remember being on the phone with my mom and telling her how I had a terrible back ache and she suggested we go into the hospital and maybe they'd give me some medicine to relieve the pain. Well little did I know, she knew I was in labor, but didn't want to freak me out, so she played it off as regular back pain!
