Yesterday I had my 37 week appointment and growth ultrasound. The baby is looking good and is estimated to be 7lb 2 oz. Next week my doctor will check to see if I am starting to progress and we will talk more about a possible induction at 39 weeks. I told her if I am not progressing I would much rather wait til I go on my own or closer to 40 weeks. I was induced once and went on my own once and the labor with induction was much more painful.
Since my son and fiancee both had influenza b last week they ested me for it.....surprising it came back negative. I am surprised because I have a terrible cough, sour throat and am exhausted. I feel so crappy that I am laying in bed instead of workingand I work from home. Hope to god this is short lived-I couldn't imagine going into labor feeling like this. Just wish I knew what I could take that wohld make me feel better and not harm my lo......I have a list of meds but still don't feel good about taking them.
After posting this i started to feel worse and worse, so that night I went to acute care and had the influenza swab done again this time it was positive....I have never felt so awful in my life.

You are absolutely right to not want to be induced at 39 weeks. That sounds pretty risky to me! The ultrasound has a margin of error of up to 2 lbs. what if your due date is off and OB induces smaller baby that he/she thought. Personally, I strongly believe your body and baby will start things up when they are good and ready. Seems like you have some good mommy intuition already telling you that. Good luck! P.S. excuse my supercrunchiness, I get this way at the end of pregnancy, don't know why!
I have been induced and gone naturally and inducing was awful! I had the flu two weeks ago Tuesday (influenza A) and I am still coughing and have a little congestion and post nasal. I am 37 weeks and hope my energy returns quick! I also worry about secondary infections but from what I hear this year these viruses are hanging around a long time!
