How do you wash bottles and breast pump? Do you need to boil water?

You can just wash them in hot soapy water. If you want to sterilize, you can find some steamer bags - Medela makes them

You still need to clean before sterilizing, but this is what they had me do when my son was in the NICU. I sterilized once a day.

This time around, I used hot, soapy water, but I have before (the first time) sterilized for 3-5 minutes in boiling water. I think as long as the water is hot, you should be okay either way.

Those bags are freaking awesome. I use them to clean my pump equipment and sterilize the bottle nipples (drop ins) you still have to wash them with hot soapy water but its nice having things sterilized in a minute and a half.

I will boil in water for about 10 minutes before using my pump for the first time. After that I just use hot soapy water.
