My driveway looked like a junk yard for a couple days between Amy's dead car sitting in it and my dead van sitting in it. My van has been dying for a while now. At first, Jonathan thought a rocker arm wasn't getting enough oil, so was banging. While he and Mike had Amy's car apart, they also tore mine apart, deciding it wasn't the oil system afterall, just the fuel injectors. Jonathan bought some fuel injector cleaner thinking he'd start small and go up to replacing them if that was what was needed. He puts this stuff into the gas tank, then drives my car aboiut 45 miles, thinking the highway drive may just do the trick...it did the trick all right. It banged most of the drive, then suddenly he heard a BIG bang, and it quit banging, but it was throwing oil out the tailpipe. Then it died...just died. My cousin's fiance is a tow truck driver, so he went and got the van, brought it home, took a peek underneath...it had thrown a rod...minimum $2500 to replace the engine. So...I've been out looking at new to me vans this week. I found one that I'm really leaning towards, it has my biggest selling feature...built in child safety seats. My dead van had them too, and I thought I was going to have to give them up.
Oh, Amy...it's not priced super way low/out of line like I thought...it blue books at $7445, so I think the price is about right.
