How is the foyer or entry way of your home set up?

Do you have a table for setting things on as soon as you come in the door or for things you need to take when you leave?

In this apartment, we don't really have a foyer or entryway. In my house, I had a rear entryway that we used mostly. I had a dresser back there to put stuff on top of. The first drawer contained all our winter hats, mittens, etc. I also had hooks for hanging coats and bags on.

We have a coat tree, a mat for boots, and white crates that we put our shoes in.

We don't really have an entryway in this house, you come directly into the dining room/kitchen.. I have a basket there for mitts, boots, etc and a shoe shelf for shoes..

I have a half barrel off to one side that we have extra scarves and hats and stuff in, and then about 15 hooks for dh and my coats, and room if we have visitors, with shoe trays underneath.
We have 5 kids and so my dad made 5 lockers for us and they are great!

Ours is just a hallway. There's no room for any table. They tend to throw things in the corner lol until I pick them up and hang them in the closet.

We have a very small entry foyer (3ft x 2ft or something like that). You open the door, step into that tiny space, and then walk right into the living room. We do have a closet in the foyer area, which we use for coats, and on one of the walls, I hung a hook rack/shelf. Right off the entry, in the living room area, I have a small buffet table where I have a small box for keys, and a space for outgoing and incoming mail.

I wish! You open the door and step straight into the living room. There's a mat there, and a big ugly Rubbermaid tote thingy that DH puts his muddy work boots in. Past that, shoes tend to get kicked behind the armchair that's beside the door. I HATE it, but there isn't room for much more.
