I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday! Now it's back to reality for us. Chris goes back to work, Carrie starts school on Friday and things are about to become "normal" again.
This week you challenge is on paper. Look over your schedule. If it isn't committed to paper, do that. If it is, look for opportunities to add or make it better (maybe add the porches or watering plants). nothing lasts forever and that includes what works for us for cleaning. Last year maybe tuesday was the perfect day to do _____ but this year maybe DD has ballet or something else that makes Tues less of an option. See where your schedule can be improved and then do it.
For those who need motivation keeping a schedule, I suggest printing out a check list and framing it. You can write directly on the glass with dry erase marker and clean it off easily. Then you have a recurring checklist.
"Disability is not a brave struggle or ‘courage in the face of adversity.’ Disability is an art. It’s an ingenious way to live."
To start I just made a list of things that really should be done at least once a week. The list is a lot more manageable than I thought it would be. Because my work schedule varies so much, I'm going to try it this way without making specific days for the chores.
Thanks to Jaidynsmum for my siggy!
Proud former foster parent to a teen. Waiting on our next call. Proud Aunt to 22.
Proud mommy to 7 angels. Survivor of 4 failed adoptions (5 kids)
Our schedule hasn't changed much from last year. Kendra has preschool on the same days at the same time. My goal is going to be getting everything written down on a check list for what needs to get done to finish our basement so that days I have designated for cleaning the basement can be used for sorting and organizing. Things on this checklist will include:
Sort the rest of the totes
Store away totes full of stuff we are keeping
Take selected items to the local Senior Center Thrift Store
Take remaining items to Goodwill
Break down cardboard boxes and recycle
Pick up and organize scrappy area
Sweep and steam clean concrete floor
Call Carpenter and Carpet layer
I'm sure there is more....lol.
