My 3 year old just runs around the house causing chaos, or watches cartoons. Sometimes she "helps" me. I always feel a lot of guilt when she watches TV though. I wish she would play with toys, but she has little interest in toys....

Should I turn the TV off or is it ok?

Mine are at school so they better be studying. As for TV thats a parenting choice I never let the grandbabies watch tv unless its nap time but thats up to you.

My daughter who is 5 usually just plays or helps me clean. (at my insistance since the mess she needs to clean is hers)

My opinion on the tv is that it's fine. I personally only allow it at certain times of the day. I have a set in stone rule that there are no tv's or computers between 2:30 and 5:00. It's not like the tv comes back on at 5...by then she's forgotten about it.

My kids are usually either playing toys, watching tv, or tormenting each other while I try to clean. I also feel bad about having the tv on, but some times it is the only way I can get away from my DS who is constantly under my feet.
