For those of you who have school age children...
How do you organized their school work?
How do you keep their backpacks, jackets and shoes organized?
Where do they do their homework, and how do you keep that area organized?
When do you have your kids do their homework?
Any other thoughts or comments about back to school organization?

How do you organize their school work? I want to make one of these (IHeart Organizing: School Paperwork Storage) to keep the kids school work in. I still need to buy a file box though. Right now I am sorting Kendra's paperwork into 3 folders: Keep, Maybe Keep, and Toss. At the end of the year I will go through the maybe keep and decide what in there I actually want to keep and then toss whatever else is in that folder and everything in the toss folder.
How do you keep their backpacks, jackets and shoes organized? I have a command hook hung behind the door in the mud room where Kendra keeps her jacket and back pack. I may have to relocate it though as I think it might make our door stick out into the walkway when we hang a coat there. Her shoes are on a nice shoe shelf under the adult sized coat hanger.
Where do they do their homework, and how do you keep that area organized? We just bought Kendra a desk so that she could do her homework in her room away from her little brother. I am still working on organizing it.
When do you have your kids do their homework? Kendra hasn't had any homework for Kindergarten yet, but she will have to do her homework sometime before supper as after supper is packed full with her and her brother's bed time routines.
Any other thoughts or comments about back to school organization? I'm completely new to the idea of school organization, so I'm learning as I go.

Most of these don't apply yet but I have 3 places foster kids can do their homework. Unless they prove they cannot handle not being in sight, they will be able to choose.

How do you organized their school work? I don't, they're in charge of it themselves.
How do you keep their backpacks, jackets and shoes organized? they each have a locker, it really helps
Where do they do their homework, and how do you keep that area organized? The older ones do it in their rooms, the younger ones (if they have it) wherever
When do you have your kids do their homework? It's up to them, as long as it gets done, then they can choose. Some of my kids like to do it the moment they come home and others need a little time to play and unwind.
Any other thoughts or comments about back to school organization?
