Ok - 1st baby - I'm new to this - haven't talked to the doc yet :-) bear with me!!!

Just curious what medications everyone is currently taking?
- I was on prilosec because I get stomach acid reflux but they switched me to Zantac since it's a Class B and Prilosec is a Class C.
- I'm taking BuSpar for my anxiety, which is a Class B
- the rest is just vitamins, started my Flinstone vitamin this morning & took extra folic acid & B6

I'm reading What to Expect but I haven't reached the medicine part.
What's safe for pregnany and what's not (in your experience/research?)

:-)

Drugs in Pregnancy and Breastfeeding | SafeFetus.com is a good website to book mark if you're unsure of what you can/cannot take.

Also at target and other stores they have prenatal gummies if you're looking for something closer. My other two pregnancies I couldn't handle pills so I took those for awhile. As for medications because of my situation I daily take: estrogen, folic acid, baby aspirin, prenatal, dha supplement, prometrium, and metformin. I also have to take endometrin too. In total 15 pills a day.

I get really bad heartburn normally and its ten times worse when I'm pregnant. My Dr always tells me only tums during the first trimester, but that might be because of my history of M/C. I'm not too sure about the other one you are taking though. In my experience the first trimester is pretty limited. Tylenol and tums only for me :/ besides my prenatal vitamins, b6 and b complex.

Elaina -
Yeah, I'm very cautious about taking the Zantac daily ... think I'll keep it "as needed" and start with Tums if/when the acid acts up.

Erica -
Thanks for the website!! I am considering switching to a prenatal gummy, I just get scared to take them because I hear they do a number on your stomach and I have a slight fear of puking :-( I'm going to talk to my doc tmrw on what to take.

Sometimes its better to stick to the basics until you talk to your Dr But that website is very helpful for the time being!

I normally take celexa for anxiety but I actually ran out a couple weeks ago and haven't been able to get it refilled yet. I will wait until after I have the baby to get back on it I just hate being on anything but vitamins while I pregnant.

For those of you on anti-depressants - were you on them with prior pregnancies?

I chose BuSpar because my issues are more anxiety-related vs. depression. The BuSpar seems to be working.

I can't seem to sleep but I think that's the pregnancy, not the meds.
