Hi All

Im trying to remain calm but just want to cry my eyes out. I know is probably preg. related how emotional i feel. But, Do you know anything about slow rise HCG levels? RE's office just called to tell me my first level was 168 and today its 235. They wanted it to be higher. They have me going back in on Monday for another test?
And Im nervous. Do you think it could still be oK?

Also, OB's office just called. they said i am only 4 weeks and 1 day preg and that the numbers could be ok. not to freak out. BUT I AM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

UPDATE
I am losing the pregnancy, betas are going down. 235 to 170.

Usually they want to see at least 60% rise, I have seen slow numbers do okay. Maybe they are just starting off slower and will speed up with the next draw.

They are rising, that is the good thing I've heard a lot of people stay they had low rising levels and went on to have perfectly healthy babies.

Hang in there - if the OB's office says they are OK, you're probably fine

I'm sure it will be fine, at least they are going UP!! Hopefully Monday will bring you some assurance.

Hang in there and try to relax, stressing does not help anything (I know it's not that easy though)

technically they should double ever 48-72 hours so I think you are fine, try not to worry I've seen plenty of women with slow rising numbers go on to have healthy term babies.

Try not to worry. Was this done 48 hours in between testing times? It's going up and there have been many ladies with slow rising hcg levels to go and have a success pregnancy. Keep us posted on how your next one goes.

everyone else. How long between the two draws? I hope you see a continued increase with Monday's draw.

Hi All
THANK YOU for the responses. The first draw was MONDAY and the 2nd was today - so 72 hrs later
I am trying not to stress but its so hard, plus I am the healthcare proxy for my grandmother and she was admitted to the hospital today - I work there so my office was a 2 minute walk from where she was - so i kept going to see her throughout the day while i waiting for the results. she is 88 has a broken left leg and has now injured her right leg because she was using it to get around in her wheelchair cuz her hands hurt. Her pain was aweful today, 10 out of 10 and it was very difficult for me to see her that way.
AND then i got the call..............
I am trying to not freak but I also know that the numbers should have gone up.
Then again, the OB nurse (SOOO much nicer than the RE nurse) anyway, the OB nurse said its a good things that its going up and not staying stagnent or going down,. She told me not to worry at this point. But i think she was just being nice. I DONT KNOW.........
Im bloated, and so emotional = i am so happy to be pregnant. im scared

just read this on americanpregnancy.com

Caution must be used in making too much of hCG numbers. A normal pregnancy may have low hCG levels and result in a perfectly healthy baby. The results from an ultrasound after 5 - 6 weeks gestation are much more accurate than using hCG numbers.

What fertility treatments did you use to conceive? What meds were you on? Those things can make betas look really wonky!

I didn't end up having to do any fertility tx, on July 23 my RE did a pregnancy test which was negative, and they started me on provera on July 24 to bring on AF, I am pretty sure I O'd on July 24, 25 or so as I finished the provera 10 days after and was wiating for AF. it never came, so 4 days after finishing provera I took a pregnancy test and it was positive, that was August 5th - so that was 13 days after the negative blood test.

I'm so sorry...You are in my prayers. I also hope your Grandma feels better soon. I know how hard it is to see our Grandparents in pain.
