I got my first one ever in 2010. I kissed my very ill mother without realizing she had one. I have gotten 2 since and I heard pregnancy can trigger them? I do not want to deal with them. I have been taking a 625mg lysine pill daily and it has helped but is it safe to take while pregnant?
There you are, I was wondering when I would see you over here
I am not sure about that med, I would ask your ob about it. Certainly something you want to make sure to not have once baby is here since he/she could get it from being kissed. I would ask about a daily med they can give you for the virus to keep it dormant.
From what i've read it's safe to take, but definitely ask your doctor about it. I've only gotten them maybe twice in my life so I don't know what would be the best thing to take. Hope it clears up soon!
I don't have one right now. It's been a couple of years since I got one but I take the lysine to keep the virus dormant. It has worked
I will call and ask if it's safe. I am hoping to avoid getting one
I get them...and got one right before I got my BFP! That was one of hints that I was pregnant, considering I usually get them in the colder months. I never take meds, so I can't help with that. I hope your doc okay's it, though.

I haven't gotten them in a long while, but I have a script for acyclovir for when i do break out with one. i usually take it daily in the last few weeks of pregnancy to prevent any from popping up during/after birth.
