measuring 5w6d (based on LMP I am 6w2d) but they are keeping my due date the same, April 15, tax day! Heart rate 114

We talked about my anxiety as well. She wants me to start Zoloft right away, low dose, as it's more effective than the BuSpar I was taking. I am little nervous though and not sure what to do. She said a lot of people take a low dose during pregnancy so they can manage, which right now I am having trouble doing. The risks are very very low, especially in a low dose.

Any suggestions?

Beautiful! I don't have any advice about the medication. If you are struggling then I would balance out how much it could help me vs. any potential risk. From what you said it sounds like the risk is pretty low and the benefit is pretty big.

Love it!

As for the Zoloft, it is usually a matter of weighing the benefit vs. the risk. Severe anxiety/stress can also be harmful to the the baby's health, so that is a consideration, too. It is definitely something you and your doctor have to decide/feel comfortable with.

My sister did take Zoloft while pregnant/breastfeeding, and her kids are just fine.

I honestly don't think that you can continue feeling the way you have been for the next 7 1/2 months. If your doctor feels confident about Zoloft being low risk AND it puts your mind at ease, I think it might be necessary. You won't be any good to the baby, while in utero or once born, if you are not able to function. I completely understand your concern, but your mental wellbeing is important, too.

thank you everyone. I think its best for me to take the meds. the dr did say I can taper off if/when I feel better ... and then go back on it once the baby is born to help with postpartum.

I am nervous but I don't think my OB would put me or my baby in any danger. I just need to get better!

Beautiful Beautiful Bean Melissa!!! I am so glad you had a great ultrasound!

I am on Celexa right now but my Dr. will switch me to zoloft soon. I took it when I was preggo with Hunter because after Hayden I had bad PPD. Everything went well with it.

Yes, I did ask about the cramping too.

She said it was my uterus stretching. They did the U/S just to be safe but she said that pains like that are normal & only to worry if the pain doesn't subside after a while and/or there is bleeding.

right now I take celexa and concerta which are both class c medications ..but its benefit over risk as the risk is unknown with any antidepressents..I took them with my other 2 kids as I have been on medication for this since a small child and my children were just fine. good luck with zoloft ..i haven't tried that one.

Awwww.....adorable! I was on Zoloft when I found out I was pregnant and weaned myself off of it these past couple of weeks. If I start to feel like my anxiety is too much to handle I'll be starting on it again. So far so good.....except I feel so irritable all the time now!

Sorry for stalking lol, I took zoloft with 2 of my children both were born with heart defects. The only linking thing was the zoloft, my other children have healthy hearts. Just be careful taking this drug its category C. Again sorry to stalk....
