Do we have any Texans on this board? If so, please be extra careful outside around these mosquitos!

I was sitting outside last night and one landed on my shoulder and I freaked out, killed it and ran inside. I guess it's pretty dangerous for pregnant woman.

BE CAREFUL & lots of bugspray!!

They were talking about that on the radio this morning.

Oddly, I haven't seen a single mosquito this summer. Maybe because we've been in a drought all summer!

If there is a mosquito..it will find me!!

I usually just stay inside after the sun is going down and they are around. They love me, especially when I'm pregnant.

I'm in Texas. We are definitely paranoid about the mosquitoes and don't go outside in the evenings except to work out, but then we're moving fast enough they don't bother us. Either that, or there just aren't any at the middle school where the track is.

I am in Texas, in the DFW area. We have been out the past few evenings because t has been so nice outside. We are using the bug spray....like crazy! Last year mosquitoes were not as much of a problem and I am sure it was because of the drought.

I'm in San Antonio and mosquitos are pretty bad over here. Fortunately, we invested on a mosquito misting system this summer and it has really been a great investment. The kiddos go outside and play and rarely get bit, but if we go somewhere else, I always make sure to have some OFF with me

I'm in Texas too about an hr from San Antonio in Uvalde, and we have been dousing ourselves in bug spray! My neighbor buys those buggable bands that your put around your wrist and she says they work great for her kids. I want to try them they will probably be okay for my son he's 7 but I'm not too sure about my daughter she's 3. I'm not sure if she'll try to put in in her mouth

You're lucky then, because we have so many mosquitos over here even though we're going through the same thing. DH told me there was the first death from west nile in AR so he warned me to be really careful when going out.
