Have you thought about taking a tour of the hospital yet?

What about birthing classes?

I did both when I was pregnant the first time. I would recommend it. It made me feel more relaxed.

This time I'd like to do the sibling class with my daughter.

Check with your hospital to see if/when they are offered. Ours offers the classes every few months. I think I was around 30 weeks or so when I took them.

I highly recommend taking a hospital tour! I took mine at 35 weeks or so last time and was surprised that the hospital felt like a terrible fit for the kind of birth I wanted. I ended up switching to a midwife and switching hospitals. I am so happy that I did. I don't know if I will go on a tour again but I might just because I will be getting excited.

I took Bradly classes when I was pregnant the first time and loved them. I would love to take classes like that again but I don't think we will be able to because we don't have childcare for my daughter. Hopefully we remember some things!

I took a tour last time (and went with a different facility, ha!) but will probably do one again in a 6-7 months since we don't have a choice of facility any more since my OB (that I love) is only at that one hospital now. It's a big place, and I'll want to get familiar with it again.

I didn't do a birthclass last time and don't plan to again. I'm just going to trust my nurse(s). I am interested, like Kimberly, in a sibling class for my little guy.

We took our tour with Isaac last year, so glad I did. I loved the hospital and the staff was great with me/baby and my family. We didn't do birthing classes since we have c-sections, and already know what to expect.

I was an employee of the hospital but I still took the tour. I would highly recommend it. I also took a birthing class and a breastfeeding class too. They were great and we really learned lots. I think I was about 32 weeks. The hospital does tours about every 3 months or so. I wouldn't bother taking them again but I am a scheduled section and have no questions what to expect. It was worth it the first time around

I work in the hospital, in labor and delivery, so I wont be taking a tour unless they're paying me. Lol

We did all the classes 3 years ago and learned nothing. :/ All very basic info and I knew the L&D floor well because it's such a small hospital. I'm still trying to figure out where I want to go this time. Will most hospitals just give you a short tour if you ask?

I did the classes and tour with the 1st pregnancy, I thought it was useful. But I really didn't need it, the nurses at our hospital are great and talked me through everything.

I went to the hospital I"ll deliver at when my nephew was born ... but I def would like a more detailed tour. However, I get extremely nervous/anxious/sick feeling when I walk into a hospital so I'm not sure how that'll go. Maybe when I'm further along & the calm hormones have kicked into gear I'll tour.

As for the birthing class, since this is my first I want (need) to take them since I have no idea what to expect. All I know is I want drugs!

My OB's office offers pregnancy classes once a week but that's more what you can and cannot do while pregnant, etc.

We did Bradley classes this time and I loved them even though I ended up with a csection. Its a new hospital so we'll do the tour and whatever they offer for siblings. Thats probably it though because I expect a csection again.

I worked at the hospital before I had Darcy so I had a good idea of how it worked. With her pregnancy I did take childbirth classes and I really recommend them for first time moms. You get a lot of good info. I will probably go tour the hospital with my IP's just to let them get a feel of where they will have to be.

We did the hospital tour last time and will do it again this time since we are switching hospitals.

I think we will skip the classes but I might take a breastfeeding class again since it didnt work for us last time, I am really hoping to try again.

No to both. I'm delivering at the same hospital as last time. And since last time, I had never even been there until the day they sent me straight from the doctor's for induction, and it all worked out okay, I think we'll be fine. ;-)

I took birthing classes with my first, and honestly, I didn't find them helpful so I have never done them again. DH has never done them at all, and we've still done okay.
