Ok so I understand how doctors use the last day of your last period to determine due date ..
My question: I use the week by week update thats sent to my email... Since the last day of your last period is a week to two weeks BEFORE you actually conceived does that mean when the email says I'm 7'weeks I'm actually 5-6 weeks ??? I'm so confused about that part when it says it already has a heart beat and starting to grow fingers and all that stuff it makes me wondering I'm a week behind what they say or do they account that?
Also I have noooooooooo symptoms except for a random pain in the nipple area not long or bad. No nausea not really tiered I go for my first prenatal visit the 12th of this month can't wait!
So from what I understand, its based by the first day of your last period, and all pregnancy calendars do take that into account. Its also based on a 40 week pregnancy, while the gestation period is really only 38, so there's the extra two weeks.
If your not feeling any symptoms, ENJOY!!! I really started feeling things intensely around 6 weeks, but then it hit hard.
Yeah, it's goofy. Every time you get your period, you are 0 weeks pregnant. A week after you period starts, you are "1 week pregnant." If you want to really think about it in a goofy way, a virgin could be considered pregnant half of her adult life (aka after she starts her period) since 2 of the 4 weeks each month are the first 2 weeks of a 40 week pregnancy!
So yes, your calendar is correct, just try not to think about it to much!
And some sites will measure it as you are in your 7th week when you are 6w(#)d. I am 9w4d but one site measures it as I'm in my 10th week. Which it is technically correct, but it just makes it more confusing.
