so most of you know the first dr was in and out of the room in under 5 min he did not seem to care at all and just pushed me to a specialist instead of him hearing what my concerns were,
i changed to a new dr that even tho i have not seen him just the felling the office staff gave me put me so at ease, from thos of you that have good drs i will be 10 weeks then what kinds of things should i ask? also they send u out for a ultrasound should i ask for one? i think i just want peace of mind that baby is still there growing and all. i never go to the dr and this is my first pregnancy so i just don't know what to do! lol

My only comment is that don't be surprised that even if you ask for an u/s that they won't give it to you. I think I asked my OB if I was going to get one early on, even just for dating, and they said no as my periods were normal and everything seemed fine. Some offices are strict about not just letting people get them without medical reason. (I ended up with 2 early ones anyway due to spotting.)

I think I initially asked some questions about how strict they were with 'the rules' like what to eat and drink and exercise to gauge if it met with my preferences. I think I asked how late they'd let me go and had some discussions about things that were specific to me, like could I keep belly dancing. You might have questions about if you will see the same doc the whole time and who will deliver you as some staffs have an on call person and that's who delivers you, regardless of who you saw in the office.

I switched mine around 15 weeks with Darcy (dd1) because my first one was just rude. I also agree about the ultrasounds. Most of them will not give you one if you ask. I really lucked out with mine because he'll do a quick one almost every appointment, but a lot of my friends here weren't as lucky. If you have any concerns I would mention them, but i'm not too sure what to ask. Hopefully this will be a good doctor for you.
