We will be using a bassinet in our room. The one where I can take the top part off and carry sleeping baby into the next room if I need to. The crib will be for baby later and if I need to put him/her down to do something. I also have a hard sided co-sleeper that goes right in the bed with us.
Here is where I am admittedly weird, I have not used a bassinet because to me bassinets look too much like caskets . I think it's the fabric or something. I had a used one I used a couple of times with my oldest and had to get rid of it because it weirded me out. So, rather than a bassinet I have always used a pac n play with the sleeper and changing station.
With Audie we used a pack and play with a bassinet in are room till about 4months then into a crib. This time I'm using a fisher price rock and play sleeper next to the bed for a few months then into a crib we also still have the pack and play with the bassinet if the baby dose not like the rock and play
