So, blowing my vow to keep baby's gender quiet on here... lol...

Even though we've known for quite a while that this baby is a girl, I've been jokingly referring to it as George (from the "and I will love it, and hug it, and call it George" old Cartoon bit). That's all I refer to it on facebook as (Well, that, or Kung Fu Fetus), so on and so forth...

Well, my 3 year old has picked up on this, and she now calls the baby George. The result has been some pretty hilarious conversations in which my SO suggests names, and Lily stubbornly insists on George.

SO: "Georgette?"
L: "George."
SO: "Georgina?"
L: "GEORGE!
SO: "Georgia?"
L: "JUST. GEORGE!"

or

SO: "Lily, how about we name the baby <insert name>
L: "No. Its GEORGE!"

Anyways, after the last of these conversations, my boyfriend turns to me and asks quite seriously "This baby is going to end up being named George, isn't it?" I just kinda grinned and said "Probably." After a pause, he replied...

"You know, I'm surprisingly okay with it."

Huzzah! LMAO. So I guess we're Team Pink with a working Team Blue name?? I seriously started it just as a freaking joke, but I am quite attached to the name now, and have trouble thinking of the baby as anything but George.

I think I'd give her a girlie name to go with it, just so she has more options when she's older(I don't know why, but I've always been partial to Georgina, but Georgia is also dear) and call her George. I think George as a NN has great spunk(which I think L does too!!)

Haha love it! Funny how nicknames can stick. My husband has called me Jack for years...long story, don't ask, but it started as a silly joke.

I love Georgia! Or you could be trendy and spell it Jorja.

MaineBean - when someone was scolding me for wanting to name her George, I made ac comment to that exact point. "Eh, if a boy can be named Sue, a girl can be named George."

Sarah - Jorja is just horrible to me. I have no interest in being trendy. lol.

Right now I like Dahlia George, Georgia Charlotte, etc.. Still tossing around specifics, but it just cracks me up that George is going to be this kids name.

That's funny!

I love Dahlia George and Georgia Charlotte! George would make a good nn I think. My family used to call me Luke as a kid.... yeah, long story, it involves Star Wars. It's very funny how nicknames stick. I mean my sister is Jennifer, but somehow Maddy stuck!

My mother would love you! Even though we are fairly set on our name (Antonia Marie) she keeps suggesting we name her Henry, or George!

I'm from August 2011, My daughter was named Bob while I was pregnant, by her big sisters before we knew if she was a she or he, found out she was a girl and we STILL called her bob. even to this day at 17 months she is called Bob, not hre legal name, but a cute knick name with a wonderful story to go with it.

I think George is fun! keep using it
