Had to pick my daughter up from school today because she has pink eye. While taking her to the doctor, I got a call from my doctor that my 1 hour glucose result was 135...and their cutoff is 135. Ugh! So I have to do the 3 hour. Honestly, this was the one thing I wasn't worried about, so it figures! And of course, I'm anemic & they're prescribing extra iron. Every time I've tried to take it in the past, it's made me really sick. And I had to move my dermatologist appt up because the pregnancy tumor she just removed from my face is definately coming back. Geez...what bad luck!

Oh no. I failed the 1 hour test last pregnancy by 1 point and I was so irritated, so I can imagine how frustrating it can be to be right at the cut off. I am glad you can get in with the dermatologist quickly at least. Hopefully things start looking up from here!

Oh man! Sorry you have all of that going on. I'm surprised to hear that the pregnancy tumor is returning so quickly!

Sorry all that is going on. Have you tried the slow release iron pills?

Yes, and I think that's what she's giving me this time too. When I was younger, my PCP prescribed them & I even tried a tablet every other day, but just couldn't do it. I think that's what I had last pregnancy too. I've been taking the prenatal gummies (recently realizing they contain no iron at all). I have my regular appt tomorrow, so I might just ask if it'd be better to just go back to the regular prenatals. I think I could tolerate them now. My Hgb is around 11, which is not bad at all. Last pregnancy it was 8 at this point, which is pretty bad.

I have another question--- Seems like everyone I know that has done the 3 hour glucose test has someone go with them. I'll be ok by myself, right?

I took my husband with me last pregnancy when I had the 3 hour test. I was glad to have him. This time I didn't have any child care, so my husband stayed home with my daughter while I went to the 2 hour test alone on a Saturday and I was fine. I didn't start feeling awful until later that day I think it was because I didn't eat anything after the test.
