Yes, all of my kids have their own first name, but their middle names are family names.

DS#1-Branson David (David is my dh's name and his dads middle name)
DS#2-Zayne Daniel (Daniel is my dads, and my brothers first name, as well as my dh's great grandfathers name)

and DD will be named Ava Cathaleen-(Cathaleen is after my dh's grandmother that he was very close to. She passed in 2004)

No, Damian Everett has his own name. Initially he was going to be Damian Ciarán Hendrix, Ciarán being Daddy and grandads name. But we decided against it, because my bf doesn't really get along with his Dad and didn't want him carrying on the name.
I had thought about naming him Edward or something with the NN Ted after my Dad (Edward/Ted) and my brother (Theodore/Teddy) but I spoke to my brother first, and asked if he would like to use the name, and he said yes. Maybe if we have another boy we will use Edward as a middle name

Yes and yes!

My first son'ss name is Oscar Alan, Alan after my uncle who passed away due to cancer. He and I were very close and his passing was sudden. He would have loved Oscar to bits.

My son on the way will be named Owen Kelly. Kelly after my sister in law who passed in a car accident, leaving behind three boys. My husband felt weird at first since Kelly is a girl's name but I proved to him Kelly is a common male Irish name which means brave warrior. He also liked the sound of the full name together so he is happy with it now.

I like Owen Kelly. Kelly is one of the most popular surnames in Ireland too! I love the meaning and that it's after your SIL

My hope, although not discussed out loud with anyone other than here, is that this little one will be named using the middle names of both of his grandpas. I'm hoping I can get hubby on board with that. As it turns out, my dad's middle name was also my grandpa's first name, and my father-in-law's middle name is my brother-in-law's first name. And it means something to me because I was named after both of my grandmas' middle names.

My oldest is the only one who doesn't have a family name at all. She was named all by herself, but there was reason behind her middle name since she was due on Christmas. My second has the same middle name as my mother-in-law. My third has the same middle name as me and my grandma (mom's mom), and her first name is a variation of my grandmother-in-law's (mom's mom) middle name, although that wasn't really why we chose it. My fourth is named with my grandma's (mom's mom) first name (and nickname), and her middle name is my grandmother-in-law's (dad's mom) first name.

Yes! All of our kiddos have names from the family.

This baby is Rosalie Maryanne, my mom's name is Rosa and Maryanne was my Nana's name, she passed away last year.

DS1 has two middle names the first after DH's grandpa who passed away the year before we had him and then DH's first name as his second middle name.

DS2's middle name is my mom's brother's (my uncle) first name, he passed away before I was born.
