I would say call your doctor just in case. I wouldn't know since this is my first, but hopefully all is well.

hmm is it just clear watery-ness? If so, I'd be concerned. If its dischargy, I don't think it would be fluid

I think Id call if I was even thinking it might be. I only ever had what would be easily identified as discharge or pee when I laugh, cough, sneeze...

Agree...better to call/be checked if there's a question. They can test and see if it's fluid or not. Hope all is well!

I'd call and I definitely wouldn't wait until morning. If your water is broken you're at a huge risk for infection. If you go in now and your water is leaking.. at least they can put you in a position to keep the fluid in the amniotic sac. If you wait until morning you may not have any fluid left and then you'd have to deliver the baby at this point.

If I remember correctly, I believe they said amniotic fluid has a sweet smell?? As opposed to a urine smell. I remember hearing this before, but then again, I'm no expert and could be WAY off!

I agree, go get it checked out!

amniotic fluid should have no smell. urine.. well, smells like urine. However during pregancy urine can become pretty dilute and look just like amniotic fluid. If there are white flecks of stuff in it that's a pretty dead giveaway that it's fluid. The white stuff is vernix.

Everyone THINKS they would KNOW if they peed themselves. They don't. LOL it happens all the time and is totally normal and expected. I'd rather have someone come in and tell them they peed themselves then have them sit at home worrying about being embarrassed and end up with an infection/issue.

Amniotic fluid will have no smell or a light sweetish smell, urine will smell like pee or ammonia. Sorta gross but when I was severely vomiting I peed myself a few times. Rushed into the dr at one point because I really thought my water had broken. Dr will do a swab and you can know within minutes if its fluid.

I would try to call tonight if you are wondering about it. It is better to get checked out than find out the next day that you should have gone in. Let us know what the doctor says. I hope it is just normal discharge.

I called this morning around 9:30 and just waiting on the nurse to call me back, if she doesn't call by 1 am going to call again.
After my shower last night I laid down and nothing came out after that, but this morning it started again, so something tells me its not my fluid but I would rather be safe than sorry!
