Have any of you ladies seen the "Manhunt" for the Christopher Dorner guy that has killed a couple police officers over the last week? This is all happening right here in my backyard! I passed the intersection this morning on my way to the dr where he killed the one Riverside Police Officer. There was all kinds of candles and flowers and balloons. They televised the funneral service for the officer yesterday LIVE!!!! It was huge thousands of people attended, they set up a field full of chairs with a gigantic screen on an 18wheeler!
Not wanting to cause a debate about it but just wondering if any of you ladies heard about it over the last week. Crazy stuff really never happens like that around here!

Yes, it has been covered here. Our news channels tend to cover police shootings ever since a local officer was shot in the line of duty last year. I can imagine how extravagant that funeral was! it was the same here last year.

Yeah, I think it has been big news all over the country. What a horrible situation. A friend of mine lives in the area and her husband is a police officer, so I have been thinking about them all week. I am glad it came to an end, but what a horrible series of events.

My husband is a criminologist and therefore has had great interest in this story. He has kept me updated as well as the news reports we've seen on tv.

There has been a smaller "manhunt" here in the town next to us this week as well. Officers were transporting a criminal from Miami to (somewhere, can't remember). Anyway, they had a lay over here at DFW airport and the officers noticed the man acting rather strange and decided to rent a vehicle to transport him by car. The officers stopped at a Wal-mart and while one officer went in, the criminal stabbed the officer that stayed in the car multiple times with a pair of SUNGLASSES! He escaped in shackles. They have been looking for him all week. This is a crazy story, but I agree it isn't as crazy as this Dorner guy.

I live 5 min from where the first 2 people were killed. The daughter of the cop and her fiancé! If you read Dorners manifesto it is crazy. Guy was supposedly after crooked cops. They are pretty sure he is dead now.

Yes this has been on the news here ... but I haven't followed it completely. Still so scary but hopefully that was him who burned in the cabin.

While by no means do I condone any or of his actions. I can see why he went crazy. He lost his job for doing his job and being honest but due to corruption of the PD was let go. I see it all the time how police officers on a lower payscale are thrown under the bus just to save a higher ups a**.

*once again I do not condone this mans actions just giving a different pov*

I've heard the story. I haven't followed much news, but have seen enough to know how sad it is.

Police and parametric/emt don't get anywhere what they should but going on a killing rampage instead of re oping the case that was bs as the man did get beaten but nope he went crazy and so he will get what he deserves

I read most of what he wrote, and it was pretty convincing that he had been unfairly treated. But he obviously went nuts and made some horrible choices that could never be warranted. It's so sad. His anger ate him up.

Yep I heard about it too, even up here in Canada . My Dad is a police officer in Florida so I really feel for these families, especially since my Dad was involved in a shooting almost a year ago. Such a hard thing to endure.
