I've developed these small itchy red bumps in the last month. Some of them pop up looking like pimples/whiteheads and some of them are just red. Started on my neck under one ear and on the back of my neck on the other side. Now they are on my tummy and the tops of my legs and I've gotten one here and there on my arm. When they started I thought they were zits, but then I realized they were A)very itchy and B)not going away. Anyway, brought it up to my doctor and he does think they are pregnancy related, and gave me a referral to a dermatologist. They can't get me in until March 19th. So yesterday my doctor had me do a blood test to check if it might be something called cholestasis (some kind of liver function disorder that can happen during pregnancy) but he said it's very rare and unlikely. Results in a few days. If its not, he said he can give me a steroid to stop the CRAZY ITCHING. It also looks horrible, and I manage a restaurant and people prolly think I have leparsy or something.
I guess I just wanted to tell ya'll that story and ask if anybody else happens to be suffering from anything similar now or in the past. Any tricks to control the itching beyond Benedryl cream?
I am having similar bumps show up but just on one leg and they don't itch at all. They start looking like little white heads but they eventually level out and are just spots. Since they don't itch my midwife wasn't concerned at all. Let us know how the results of your blood test come back and if you find some relief!
