Prayers for my Monster, please. She's got what looks to be shaping into one heck of a cold, and I'm terrified.

Gimme fever, tummy bug, heck...she could even have a broken arm and I'd roll with it. Colds scare me senseless because of how vulnerable she is to respiratory issues.

With PH kids its not 'just a cold', it can knock them on their rears (hospitalizations are not uncommon over 'simple' colds)- and we don't even have oxygen on hand at the house anymore.

So...yeah. Prayers if you do that, please.

I don't do the prayer thing either, but I'm sending you confidence in your strength to handle it, good fortune for Monster that she rides it through with no issues, and knowledge for any medical folks that might have to get involved.

My thoughts are with you!! I hope she rides through this just fine. We are lung affected in this house so I understand to a degree the feeling of "just a regular" cold going bad. I hope that is not the case!!

Thanks, ladies.

On a somewhat related note: Its irritating that Cardiology scheduling can't get the fact that Lily is too young to have the 6 minute walk test done. Especially when that is under Cardiology's own rules! They don't do the 6MW (how far can she walk in 6 minutes and what does her 02 sats stay at during that time) until the kids are old enough to understand they have to keep walking the entire time, and don't get overly distracted by shiny things.

So they have to check, and then I have to wait to tell them no. Then after I tell them no, they have to check again..and then we can get around to scheduling. /eyeroll

Oh that's frustrating. I can't even imagine expecting a 3 year old to walk for any specified peroid of time just because you tell them to.

Funny thing is - I have no doubts she could do it. She loves to walk, she listens well when told to 'come on' and 'keep going' and it generally only takes a light scolding when walking to get her back on focus. I could easily just walk a couple paces ahead of her and she'd happily chase me for 6 minutes, if nothing else.

The hospital, however, insists that they can't do it until 5/6 years old.

Praying for your little monster that she stays well! I freak out if I have a child get sick, I can't imagine how stressful this is with added health concerns.
