Uuggghh, good morning ladies!

So we had our first false alarm last night. And it's kind of embarrassing, but I had to share.
I've been going pretty crazy on bedrest since Friday but I've been trying to follow the rules. Well last night BF was helping DS 1 & 2 give their hermit crabs salt bathes so I got up and was standing there watching for a few minutes until BF made me get back on the couch. Well when I sat down I noticed that my pants were wet, like, a lot wet. So I told BF that I thought my fluid was leaking. (You see where this is leading? You can see the embarrassment coming right?)
So I called the dr & she told me to come in to L&D to get checked. Right about then I had a painful contraction so I'm thinking, yes, this is happening. My mom and stepdad came over and picked up the boys & BF & I were off to the hospital. We had my bag & his camera & we were ready to go have a baby. So we get there & they take us into triage in the maternity area & hook me all up to the monitors & she does a quick result swab.....no amniotic fluid. So she did another swab that they send down to the lab. 30 minutes later she comes back, no fluid. She said I was contracting but nothing major. So she checked me. I am still at 2cm but have thinned out more and am at 75% effaced now.

So......they sent me home. Which is good, so baby can cook a bit longer. But frustrating because I thought we were having a baby last night. Also, what WAS that fluid on my pants?? Yeah....probably pee.....basically I peed my pants......BF thought it was HILARIOUS!!
So they told me to stay on bedrest & I am back on this friggin couch.

Three pregnancies & that was my first ever false alarm. How embarrassing.

Oh man! Well, rest assured that you are definitely not the first person ever to do that. And really, if you're not sure, it's better to be safe than sorry. But I can understand the embarrassment, too. Either way, glad everyone is ok and baby can bake a little longer!

With all of the painful contractions that you have been having I think it is best that you go when something this off happens. You didn't know where that fluid was coming from. I would have gone off to the hospital too!

I was just so embarrassed. Lol And I was so convinced on the way to the hospital that that was "it", I gave BF permission to make fun of me if it was a false alarm. So of course, as soon as they confirmed I was not leaking fluid, it was ON! He found it so hilarious. But, at least he wasn't upset or anything, just thought it was funny. And then took me to get ice cream. Haha
Ugh!! The joys of pregnancy I guess!

At least you're both good sports about it! Sorry for the false alarm, though.

Glad you got some ice cream out of it and also glad that baby can stay in there a bit longer. I imagine it would be disappointing though if you thought it was the real deal.
