I found out yesterday that I tested positive for GBS. I was surprised because this is the first pregnancy of mine that I've tested positive out of 6! Has anyone else tested positive for it this time or in prior pregnancies? I don't know a lot about it....just that it's bad if the baby becomes infected.

Oh...sorry to hear that! Most of the time, as long as they know about it and start IV antibiotics when you go into labor, it's manageable. It's when you don't know about it that it can be scary.

I got it this time around and didn't have it with previous pregnancy. They gave me antibiotics which are already done and they said when I go into labor to head to hospital right away so they can give me IV antibiotics before birth. Seems like nothing to worry about if they catch it in time.

I was negative with my first 3, positive with my 4th, and negative this time. They just added antibiotics to the IV last time, and she was fine. As long as they know about it ahead of time, it's no big deal.

I tested pos with my 2nd pregnancy, but not the other 3 pregnancies. It wasn't a big deal. I freaked me out at first because I thought it must be like an STD, but they assured me that it wasn't.

Just let them know that you are positive, and they hook the antibiotic up to the IV fluid.

Yeah, no worries, just make sure it's one of the first things you tell the nurses when you go into the hospital so they can get you on the antibiotics.
