I have a friend that is 27 weeks and is in hospital most likely until she has her son which They are aiming for 32 weeks if she can make it that long. She has severe pre e. I'm going to visit today and was going to get some things to pass time. What should I get?

For those of you who have been in the hospital for extended periods of time what did you do to help pass time? Or what did you wish you had?

I'm letting her borrow my kindle.

Glad she is in a place she can be watched but I can't imagine having to stay that long. Im sure the kindle will be a big help. Maybe find out if the hospital has a DVD player and take up a couple movies..

Thanks for the idea. If I remember correctly they had one when I has my middle child. I will see. I thought about maybe getting a card game or something for when people are there?

Word search games & magazines. Sometimes having actual paper that you can touch and turn pages is a nice change. Coloring book? when I took a care package to a friend that had surgery and was in bed for weeks, I filled the bag with coloring books & crayons & magazines & small candies & an activity book & word searches. Little things to pass the time. Maybe a puzzle also? Everyone loves finishing a puzzle!

Good ideas above. I was going to suggest word search, newspaper, magazine, candy, gum... I hope the stay feels short. I can not imagine!!
