Lol I see all these ladies on here having contractions even a bit before the babies started coming and I don't think I've had any! I feel last in line! Lol not that I know what they feel like I have not felt any tightening feelings sometimes back or front pain that's it
I think I might have had one last night? Which would be the first time in either pregnancy that I noticed feeling anything contraction like besides while I was trying to be induced in the hospital when it was obvious. I've never had a BH contraction to my knowledge either. I dont' think EVERYONE has contractions early.
I think it's completely normal to not have contractions at this point...everyone is different, though. I wouldn't worry too much...it isn't really an indication of how early or late you'll go into labor. Some ladies have been contracting forever with no progress, and others have no contractions, and then BAM go into labor.
With my first I never felt any contractions....until the day I was induced. Even then, when they hooked the monitor up I was having some contractions but didn't even notice it. Now once they started pitocin, oh heck yeah I felt them. Just never felt them prior to actual labor.
My second was a different story, I had timeable contractions a solid week before before my water broke. Those contractions were quite painful too.
So, I guess my ramble of a reply is that being your first you may not feel any noticable contractions until labor starts. It sounds like a bummer, but really it's annoying to have so many contractions before labor.
With my first I didn't have any contractions by now either. I had a few BH contractions the week or so I went into labor but the nice thing was that when I woke up to a contraction one morning (at 42 weeks) I knew that I was in labor. I just knew.
My good friend was also due around me and she had strong contractions for weeks! She was always sure that they would lead to something and was often disappointed. She also went into labor at 42 weeks so I don't think the contractions had anything to do with how soon we were about to go into labor.
I never felt a contraction with my first until I went into labor at 41 weeks 3 days. With my second, I did feel braxton hicks contractions about a week before (so starting at 40 weeks), and this time I have felt braxton hicks contractions for weeks.
Mine have settled down over the past 2 weeks after having tons of painful ones and BH everyday since 22 weeks. Must be the calm before the storm. Ive only been having 2-3 a day lately with a bunch of BH thrown in but those don't hurt.
I haven't had any contractions, and I know what they feel like! With my 1st, even after being induced, I described them as more of an annoyance, and my mom had to tell me that they were contractions. Mind you, those were only the early contractions, but still. With my 2nd and 3rd, I didn't have any until my water broke. With my 4th, I was also induced so none until they started the induction. My 4th was the only one I had any Braxton Hicks contractions with. Don't worry - it doesn't necessarily mean anything!
