I have read that when labor is close your bowels will change and you will go more frequently. Anyone notice this at all? I have been dealing with constipation more of this pregnancy but the last week or so I have been going at least once a day if not twice. Just wondering if this is a sign of early labor ....?

I have read the same things. I don't know though since I have no experience but I have been extra gassy this past week.

Since last night when my contractions started I have been on the toilet every few hours. They say your body empties itself out in preparation for labor, we shall see how true it holds.

Yeah, that's what they say. It wasn't really true for me last time. I think it's one of those things...it could mean labor is coming soon, or it could not. But it's most likely a sign that things are at least moving in the right direction!

I've heard the same. I have been going #2 like 4-5 times a day! This has been the case for a week or more. TMI ALERT, the consistency is also different. I don't think labor is iminent for me, I just figured there's more pressure and less room in my bowels, so they want to be emptied more often.

I've been very regular (to say the least lol) the last 2 or so weeks, and then the last day or 2 I've been having borderline diarrhea. I know with my daughter in early labor I had loose stools almost every hour. I think if it's not accompanied by regular contractions it's just the pressure the baby is putting on everything down below at this point.

I was looking the same thing up online earlier. Since late last night I have been extra gassy and then I have gone to the restroom like 4-5 just since this morning. BUT I ate a lot of deviled eggs yesterday, I didn't really mean too, they were just SOOOOO good that I couldn't seem to stop so I don't know if that has something to do with it or not. But with all the cramping I've been having from that last 2 days it made me wonder.

With my first pregnancy my labor started with strong contractions that were spaced pretty far apart. After a few hours of those I lost my mucus plug and then had a lot of loose stools. By that point I already knew that I was in labor but those seemed like extra signs in case I was missing the contractions somehow (not possible).

This time anytime I use the bathroom twice in an hour I get excited that it might be labor, haha.

I don't remember getting looser stools closer to labor with my last two. I'm already on a stool softener bc of an iron supplemnt (borderline anemic).
