.. Is the Itzbeen timer! This thing is a MAJOR MAJOR lifesaver.
You can get it for only $20 Itzbeen WD68 Timer - Walmart.com
(it comes in slate gray, green and pink)
DH and I use this thing nonstop to keep us on track and help us remember when we did what. You just push the button next to the corresponding action and it keeps count. You can also set alarms and timers to count down. It has a slider for which breast you fed from last, a clock, a flash light at the top and its back lit.
I saw this while baby surfing before Darion was born and the reviews were so great that I bought one. It's easily the best gadget that I have for the baby and helps us a LOT!!!!! I would be lost without this thing.
It took me a week after he was born to take it out of the pack and DH and I would always go back and forth trying to figure out who did what and when. "When did you last change him?" "Have you fed him yet?" We used the generic timer (*) to keep track of when he pooped last since he was having trouble pooping for a while there. ( Now he poops like a Boss!! *lol*)
Anyway.. I recommend this little gadget for every mom. I have already bought two more for my two friends who have baby showers coming up.
I have one but don't use it. I feed on demand and change his diaper between breasts so it just doesn't help us any. But it is a very cool little gadget and I could see it being helpful for some.
There are identical apps for the iPhone as well.
I've seen those...I think they're pretty cool! Anna usually only eats from one side, so I definitely need some way to keep track of which side to start with next time. Right now I'm using an app, but I don't love it. I would have been happy to get one of those as a gift.
Nice!! You're going to love it! It's a life saver bigtime. It even helps us troubleshoot whats wrong with him when he is crying.
For example: My mini fuss eats every 2.5 hours. If he starts crying we peek at the timer and go "oh he is hungry." Feed him and done.
Also it helps me schedule MY time. I know how much time I have left by looking at the time for how long its been since he's eaten. I know not to start anything new if we are getting close, so I'm ready to feed him.
It also tells me when he is about to wake up from sleeping because I know he is going to want to eat every 2.5hours, so I know when to expect him to rouse from sleep.
DH sets an alarm on it to go off every 2hours and 15 minutes at night after he has eaten so he can get up and get his bottle warmed and ready. That way we know when he is getting up and it lets us feed him before he gets to the point where he is crying and fully woken up. We get him fed while he is still drousy at night and he falls right back asleep and we can hop right back in bed. It saves us major sleep time and stress.
The ways to use this thing are unlimited. I'm sure that you will love it.
Look at me running my mouth about it.. I need to do a commercial for this thing. *lol* I love anything that helps me stay in control and organized!
I've never had a kid so scheduled! My kids never eat on a time frame I mean, they never eat every X amount of time. I do use my phone to keep track of much of what this keeps track of. I monitor wet/dirty diapers and feedings for the amount of time he nurses on each side. I also keep stats and milestones and meds (for me if needed) and anything else I need on the phone too. I'm to on the go to lug something additional with me so I def prefer my phone for that stuff but I'm going to file this away for future use as a gift idea
