I will start by saying that if I was on the fence of having anymore kids I am confirmed I will never ever do it again. Let me share my labor story and my adventure in hospital nightmares. Last time I posted my little man was transfers and the midwife was talking Csection. Well I went into my 40 week check up and he was still transfers. But for whatever reason the way he was sitting caused my blood pressure to shoot thru the roof. It was so high I was dizzy and seeing spots. So she sent me to the hospital to get checked out.
I got to the hospital in the hour and in that time little man moved head down. My blood pressure was stabilized and was taken off the high risk ward. But here's where things I think took a turn for a worse he was till high and not moving down at all. They would not send me home cause he was term and the midwife was convinced a c section was not necessary. So I went into labor slowly, I got a epidural and it took 45 min for her to do it. So 12 hrs later nothing was happening and she tried every trick. I started pushing for 2 and half hours and finally I could not take it anymore and asked to stop. Right when I said no more I layed back and got the worst pain ever in my stomach and all I could do was scream bloody murder. I some how tore the placenta away from uterus wall and it made the baby crash. Thats the last thing I remember. What I was told was they did a emergency csection and accidental nicked a artery when they did it. When they brought me back after surgery i crashed and was hustled off to another surgery to save my life. Baby was born with his own issues and we both ended up in ICU.
Anyway I will save all the details but I ended up crashing 3 times in the week, had 6 units of blood and a new respect for being knocked down. Little Man was born April 17 at 9:45 and he is 8lbs 8.5oz I did not get to see him till Sunday. He had some issues with liver and kidney and they thought brain damage as well. But he seems to have made a full recovery and is healthy and happy now. I am on light duty for 6 weeks and can not lift more than 10lbs and can not even push a shopping cart cause they think it could effect the surgery site. My poor mother had to deal with my 3 kids for the entire week and she has to stay for another 2 weeks cause of the medicine I am on and to make sure I do not over do it. But I have decided not to have any more kids and will look into making sure of it this time.
Oh my, I'm so sorry. It sounds horrific. So you basically had a placental abruption? Scary. It's not something you caused. I'm thankful you were in the hospital bc those are life threatening and everything happens so fast. I'm happy you and the baby are ok.
