How is everyone's "under-carriages" doing?

How long did it take for everything to feel normal again down there?

I am 5 days pst partum, and I still feel so sore, and so much pressure down there. I had a 1st degree tear ( I'm not sure how many stitches. I also have severe hemorroids to deal with. I can't even walk normally. IT SUCKS!!!

Anyone else having issues?

I am on my 8th day postpartum. I had a first degree internal tear, near the urethra. I've had essentially no pain at all. A little bit of a burning feeling when I pee, and an occassional ouch when I sit down, but nothing I could even complain about. No hemorrhoids. I feel really fortunate that I've gotten through this experience needing no medication at all, after spending the entire pregnancy so dependent on a pill (forever grateful for Zofran!).

Last time I had a first degree tear, and two stitches, and it took weeks to feel back to normal. Pooping for the first time was horrible, and I couldn't walk normally for a while. This time has been better...no tear/stitches. I didn't have hemorrhoids right away, but they did show up around 2 weeks. My opinion is that postpartum hemorrhoids are way worse than giving birth, by far. Luckily they went away pretty quickly. And at the moment I'm feeling just fine in that area.

Hope everyone is recovering well!

I had a small tear - got 2 stitches ... I am almost 7 weeks pp and all healed but it did take a while for me to feel ok.

I couldn't wipe for weeks, thank Heavens for that peri bottle! I had one hemmie and man it was a b****. The nurse at the hospital wrapped a tucks pad around a small ice pack and literally put it in my butt ... but that man a world of a difference with the pain!

Sometimes I think that after pregnancy pain is worse than pregnancy itself ... lol

I am so glad you posted this. I am less than a week out and surprised that I am still sore. This was my first vaginal birth and I had some crazy 2nd degree tears so I am still taking advil and waddling around.

I keep wanting to write my birth story but I can't figure out a comfortable way to sit down long enough to write it.

I had a 1st degree tear as well and it took me about a week and a half to feel better. (not perfectly "normal" but a million times better). However the hospital gave me Witch hazel wet wipes/pads (which I placed on my maxi pad before I put it on) and the pain relief spray which was a god send!!!! You can pick up that spray at any drug store. I hope that you feel better soon.

I am 3 weeks pp and Im still not 100%. I can finally sit with out cringing but if I walk too much I feel it big time. I had 2nd degree tear and stitches plus "papercut like tears" as the dr put it. I got sent home with that squeeze bottle to squirt myself clean. And actually sitting on ice helped a lot.

I'm doing pretty good in that area. Some burning when I go to the bathroom and def loving the water bottle washing vs wiping. I believe I had 4 stitches, not sure how long they take to dissolve.

I'm not sure what degree tear I had, but I had an internal one that was in the muscle tissue and a skin tear on my perineum. I chose not to get stitches and was feeling much better around 1 week pp. My midwife checked me at 2 weeks pp and said that the perineum was all healed and the internal tear was practically healed. I'm 3.5 weeks out now and feeling normal in that area. I had 1 2nd degree tear with my daughter and 3 stitches, they took forever to heal and I was miserable for the full 6 weeks, and then they didn't even heal properly. Definitely going the no stitch route in the future if I have any more kids.

Roids are a whole different kind of beast, didn't have any after my first. And thought I was clear this time when I didn't have any immediately after delivery, it showed up about a week after and is still a royal pain in the arse (literally). I have earth mama angel baby bottom balm which helps, and it has gotten a little better, if it gets worse again I'm putting potato in there lol. Several people including my midwife and a doula friend have recommended that.

I had a tear that required 2 stitches, that in combination with the massive rhoids were SO painful after delivery. The tear didn't bother me after 2 weeks, I just have a tiny itch here and there that I believe is from the area. My rhoids are becoming more manageable as well. I am 4 wks pp today and feeling fairly well.

I hated having to have stitches. I had an episiotomy with my first that went clear to my anus! It took 6 weeks for me to sit right. Baby #2 I only had a very small tear that didn't require stitches, that was a piece of cake. Then baby #3, no tear, no stitches...just hemorrhoids. So having to deal with stitches on top of my bottom pain this time around really sucked! I believe it's because when he finally came down it was incredibly fast, so my vagina didn't have a chance to prepare itself

Do you have a boppy pillow? I found sitting on my boppy was the only way I could sit comfortably.

I'm 12 days PP. The doctor said I had a small tear and had to get stitches; unsure of how many. It is just now starting to feel better but not normal yet down there. I now can finally sit and walk normal. I also have been using tucks, a spray, and the water bottle which were a life savor!!! It still can burn here and there when I pee or be uncomfortable if I sit wrong.

I did not get roids and from the sounds of it, that does not sound pleasent.

This recovery has been especially easy for me, despite a tear requiring stitches and 2 superficial tears. After 3-4 days, I felt back to normal. The annoyance for me is the postpartum bleeding. I'm 3 1/2 weeks out and no end in sight. It has been very light for probably 2 1/2 of those weeks so I just keep hoping it's on its way out!!!

I still have a few stitches. Most of the time I feel fine, but every once and a while ill sit on the floor and feel sore, or wipe in a way that I can feel them.

2 stitches. No 'roids. Was never in actual pain. Just had a bit of swelling. Was back to normal before the week was out.

I had a first degree periurethral and a first degree periclitoral. I can still feel the stitches there which kind of skeeves me out. I haven't had pain there in a long time though.. maybe a few days after delivery? Overall I'm surprised how amazing my recovery was and how little postpartum bleeding I had (other than the hemorrhage right after delivery) LOL.
