What are your favorite foods to snack on while you are nursing, pumping, bottle feeding or otherwise occupied with baby? Am I the only one that realizes how hungry I am when I find myself trapped under a baby?

I never eat when I'm occupied with him, but as soon as I put him down, I realize how hungry I am. I've been eating string cheese, granola bars, and Cheerios, plus chugging water.

Usually some kind of granola bar or protein bar. Right now it's homemade granola bars. Especially in the beginning, I had to have food and water nearby because I'd be dying of thirst and starving as soon as she'd latch on. It's s little better now though.I do still keep snacks and drinks around though..

Lots of water and vitamin water. I snack on peanuts, cheese, and dried fruit mostly. I did make a big batch of puppy chow the other day and have been devouring that

Oooh, graham crackers... I might have to pick some of those up this week. I wonder if I've even got some.

I had been eating these yogurt pretzels that I got from the bulk bins, but I recently figured out that that ain't yogurt brotha'! So now I can't eat them knowing it's essentially crappy frosting.

I made granola bars last week and want to make more- this time I'm going to add more fruit, more chocolate chips and another dash of kosher salt since I love the salty sweet combo. I eat those both midday and in the middle of the night when I'm starving. I'm also trying to eat nuts and fresh fruit. I have a few healthy muffins left in the freezer that I snack on and I have been known to just eat deli cheese and meat from the fridge. I also had a whole carrot dipped in sour cream last week and thought it was tasty, so I am going to try to incorporate celery and carrot sticks dipped in a lightly made dip for a healthy snack.

Water is my go to beverage.

Lately it's been nursing tea, coffee, water. I find myself not finding time fort snacks, but I definitely get my three meals in. I've been eating lots of eggs, avacado, sandwiches ( i missed that deli meat while pregnant!) If I do snack I try to make it fruit. OH! and SUSHI!!!!!

I am always eating when I am done breast feeding and start pumping milk. I drink a ton of water and snack on granola bars, nuts (yum pistachios), fruit or whole wheat Ritz crackers. I love crunchy snacks.

I went grocery shopping today. Based on stuff I already have and new things, I now have the following for snacks:

- graham crackers
- chocolate covered almonds
- banana chips
- medjool dates
- cheese and crackers
- homemade granola bars
- storebought granola and cereal bars
- lightly salted peanuts
- grapes
- apples
- yogurt
- bananas
- sour cream for dipping carrots and celery and cucumber
- cereal
- pretzels

I think that's it, ha!

I am so impressed that some of you make your own granola bars. Are there any favorite recipes that you would be willing to share?

LOVE the cocoa roast almonds! That's one thing I always have in my pantry.

As for granola bars...I used a recipe that MaineBean posted the other day (I would link to it, but I'm on my phone...it was in the Happy Monday thread). It was actually pretty easy. I modified it a bit, but that's the beauty of granola...you can customize it easily.

Here's the granola recipe- they come out pretty crunchy. Next time I want to see if I can make them a little chewier. And with more goodies and salt!

You ladies must be better than me. I don't really do snacks when I'm nursing. I find there are days I forget about eating, or I've been busy with the kids, and suddenly, I realize it's lunch time, and I never had breakfast. I'm trying to make a conscious effort to drink enough water, but I don't always do great with that, either. So, then I guzzle it trying to catch up.
