So on Friday I got a little pool at set up and filled with water. I got all three little girls in a swim suit I even put one on so I could sit in the pool and hold Rae so that she could do her first swimming pool. Then we go outside and twins jump in right off we are all good right? I am sitting within arm reach of them blowing up a floaty for Rae while the big kid holds the baby. Get it all blown up walk over to set my phone down and grab the baby then in we go. So we are sitting in the pool and the baby is having fun and I decided I wanted to get a couple of pics of her in the pool for the first time and ask DD1 to get my phone so I can. Her response 'I can't find it' so I stand up to look for myself, I mean sat it right out in the open all she has to do is open her eyes right? Wrong. Apparently instead of sitting it down on the table like I had planned I had slipped it into the pocket of the shorts I always wear over my swim suit. It is so drowned it is not even funny and now I have to figure out how to get a new phone. Oh and the worst part is I had a ton of pics I hadn't gotten uploaded yet on it. I guess those are lost now. Really stinks!!

So how is everyone else's weekend going?

Oh no! I wonder if someone can get the pics off. I once dropped my phone in the toilet. I took it apart and then put all the pieces in a bag of dry rice for a day or so, and it actually worked again. Might be worth a try.

Oh no.. That sucks!

However, the pics likely aren't lost on your phone, nor is your data. So hold onto it. You can take it to your phone carrier's store or some place like Geek Squad (even though I hate them because they overcharge people for simple I.T fixes) or equivalent technician to get your data off of the phone.

Just out of techy lady curiosity, what type of phone was it?

It is a Samsung Galaxy Stellar. I got my claim in today for a replacement, (thank you insurance!) and I should have it tomorrow before noon. I have been going crazy without it. And I have tried the rice trick, I used it once before when I dropped my phone in some water but I got it out quick so there was no time for the water to really get in there. Since it was in the water for so long this time it had the time for the water to really get up in there, it even got under the screen(you can see water lines on what can only be the inside of the screen) so the touch screen isn't working and so therefore it isn't working at all, well except to turn on. I am hoping that I can hook it up to a computer or something and get to my pics and whatnot.

I do hope you're able to salvage your pictures!

Do you use some sort of auto back-up service for your pics? I didn't in the past, but when I got my phone replaced recently, I set up auto back-up using Google+, so any pics I take are automatically backed up, in case something happens to my phone.

No I dont use auto back up my may have to look into that. I was able to save everything that I took the only ones I lost are the ones I downloaded to the phone that someone else had sent me so that is good. Got my new phone today! Yay!
