Hubs and I were watching some Masterpiece Mystery (I think it was Mystery?) show last night called Silk. We weren't that into it, but it was the best thing on. The show was kind of confusing- we couldn't tell if it was a series and we were just behind for catching a second or third episode, or if it was filmed with a kind of "life interrupted" point of view and the viewer is just supposed to be along for the ride.
So to that point, the main character is a British lawyer woman. She had just wrapped up some sort of emotional trial for the day and then went to a party where drama happened and that was that. Cut to a scene presumably the next morning. The camera starts with a shot in the bathroom- hanging hand towel, cabinet mirror, bathroom light fixture- and then pans to the woman sitting, dressed, on the bed. She stands up and sighs, and walks into the bathroom. This whole thing is no more than 10 seconds.
Can the ladies here guess what happens in the very next set of seconds?
I turn to DH and say either "she's pregnant" or "it's a pregnancy test" and lo and behold, the very next cut shows a pregnancy test showing the work Pregnant. He looks at me and says "How the hell did you know that's what it was going to be? We've never even seen this lady have sex or be in a relationship?"
I told him, "Hon, that's how every pregnancy test is! You wait impatiently, sometimes outside the door because you are nervous. It's the same every time! You weren't there for either of my tests. The first I took while you were on the way home and the second I did in secret. Trust me, they both looked a lot like that scene."
LOL! I can totally see that. I really doubt my DH would have made that connection, either. He wasn't around when I tested either time. Well, technically he was in the other room when I tested with Anna, but he was fast asleep. I have never been one to set the test aside and wait, though...I always watched it like a hawk! LOL.
