Is your baby sitting unsupported yet? Who's still not sitting on their own?

Sammy can sit unsupported. He can't sit himself up yet, but if we set him down in a sitting position, he can stay sitting as long as he wants. But he still only rarely rolls over, so he's doing things a little out of order.

Ingrid is getting there. She usually does ok once we put her in the position, but she's not so great with self-preservation yet- if she starts to lose her balance, down she goes without much instinct to try and stop herself!

We have all wood floors, so we can't just let her conk down. I've been trying to sit her on the couch and beds lately so that she can practice falling down on a safe surface to learn to try to not let that happen. She's making progress, but at a slow (normal) rate!
HalfDozen and Cortney6983 like this.

She sits unsupported and can sometimes get herself from a crawling position to a sitting position.

Cole can sit by himself but like others he can't get in a sitting position by himself. Occasionally he will fall over if he reaches too far for something.

She sits by herself and can get from sitting to crawling position, but she can't really get herself into sitting position without help.

Not really. We can sit him up, and he might stay, or he might not. He just doesn't have much interest in it. He definitely can't sit himself up. However, to put him on the floor, he throws his arms ahead of himself and then drags his legs behind to move all around. It's not really crawling, but it serves the same purpose. He will also get up like he's going to crawl, but then he gives up.
