We are dressing L up and visiting dh at work and then family is coming over to see him in his costume. I'm not taking him trick or treating house to house. Family members will give him money instead of candy.
We dressed James up the first year, but didn't go anywhere. Going out to do something as a family is cool, but trick or treating is an older kid thing to me. We didn't take James until his 3rd year when he was 2 yrs and a few months.
It bugs me when strangers show up with their baby and a bag for candy. Um, your baby can't eat candy and if you want candy, go buy your own. That's what being a grown-up is about. I shouldn't have to give you candy that *I* paid for.
