I know there isn't many in here yet and I hope it's okay that I join. My name is Erica, married to James, and we have 2 daughters Darcy 19 months and Rowan almost 9 months. After wanting to do this for 6 years I decided to become a surrogate. After screening,matching, and completing all the medical stuff we finally did our first IVF cycle last week (retrieval with the egg donor was the 10th, transfer the 15th) and I got a faint bfp on thursday with a darker one friday to show to my couple who are ecstatic.

Can you tell us more about your case??
I have always been interested in becoming a surrogate, but, after my first pregnancy, I learned I would never be an ideal candidate...as I have pre-term labor...and now, well, I have no uterus. So, to have someone here going through it, really intrigues me!

I do. We skype weekly and they were there for me while I was in California for the transfer. They are an international couple and for them adoption and surrogacy in country was not an option so they went with my agency to try and find one. I know they've been waiting for about a year before they found me and from the initial app to now has only taken about 4-5 months. My husband wanted me to wait before having kids and since i'm done (at least for now because 2 under 2 is crazy at times) and I really love being pregnant I figured i'd give it a go.

Hey Erica! So happy to see you over here and hoping I get to join in another 2 weeks. When is your first ultrasound? They should be able to tell if it's one or two at that point, right?

that's so awesome! I always wonder if you get a say in what couple chooses you? or do they choose you and you go with whoever that is? I wanted to do it for a friend but my husband thinks It'll be too hard on me emotionally. Can't wait to go through this journey with you
